Modeling of extrusion through a Garvey die: Cost and performance

Modeling of complex systems requires large and expensive computational systems. Costs processing time can be reduced by more than half in a well-managed cloud environment. the flow ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) through Garvey die was achieved employing latest computer technology commercially available at modest cost. The description stress–strain behavior for EPDM done using Otswald-de Waele model. results demonstrate that higher velocities, lines do not follow smooth profile upon exiting die, which indicates instabilities may affect on finished surface. Prediction extrudate gives option to make an initial estimate permissible extrusion speeds.
